As part of the 10 Priority Infrastructure Projects in road construction under President Claudia Sheinbaum’s administration, it was announced today that work has commenced on the Tamazunchale – Huejutla segment.

Details from the Government Press Conference

During this morning’s press conference at the Government Palace, Jesús Antonio Esteva Medina, Secretary of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transportation (SICT), provided updates on the project. He mentioned that there are currently 5 construction fronts in San Luis and 4 in Hidalgo, with earthwork having already begun.

Project Progress and Investment

This year, 20 kilometers will be constructed in Hidalgo and another 10 kilometers in San Luis Potosí. The project will involve 81 workers and 30 machines, expanding the existing 7-meter road sections to 12 meters, including two-lane segments and rebase zones with shoulders.

The total investment for this project is 6,674 million pesos, which also covers the construction of 14 bridges. As of now, the project has an advancement of 4%.

Under the leadership of Governor Julio Menchaca, with support from the Mexican Government, this infrastructure project aims to enhance and provide dignified access to various communities within the Hidalgo territory.
