Heavy Rains Expected in Five States

Intense:

Post-Erick Weather Update

The National Meteorological Service (SMN), under the National Water Commission (Conagua), has reported that heavy rainfall will persist across much of Mexico following the passage of storm Erick.

The SMN has also warned about the possibility of dust storms, or “tilingas,” in Baja California, Sonora, Chihuahua, and Coahuila. In Sinaloa, Durango, Zacatecas, San Luis Potosí, Tabasco, Campeche, Yucatán, Quintana Roo, and the Veracruz coastline, strong winds of 40 to 60 km/h are expected, with possible dust storms in Baja California Sur.

Warm Weather Continues

Despite the heavy rains, the SMN has indicated that very hot to extreme hot conditions will continue in northwestern states. Furthermore, winds of 30 to 40 km/h are anticipated, with gusts reaching 50 to 70 km/h in Nuevo León and Tamaulipas.
