Secretaría de Economía Recognizes Over 100 Startups

The Mexican Secretaría de Economía has awarded more than 100 startups the “Hecho en México” (Made in Mexico) seal, acknowledging the exceptional talent and high-level innovation of Mexican startups.

We are very committed to strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem over the coming years. What entrepreneurs do is very valuable economically, but it’s even more valuable for the survival and well-being of the population,” Ebrard stated.

Ebrard also highlighted that companies have earned their merit not only through the seal but by representing Mexico globally. He acknowledged the need to increase support for entrepreneurs and his dedication to working on this initiative in the coming years.

Collaboration and Future Plans

The event was organized by Angel Ventures, the Mexican Private Capital Association (AMEXCAP), Cometa, Dalus Capital, DILA Capital, Nazca, EMX Capital, and Fondo de Fondos, in collaboration with the Secretaría de Economía.

Hernán Fernández, Managing Partner of Angel Ventures, expressed his belief that entrepreneurial capital is key to driving financial inclusion, formal job creation, digital infrastructure development, industrial technologies, nearshoring, an entrepreneurial culture, new leadership models, and beneficial business models for social mobility.

Ebrard expressed his interest in collaborating with all actors within Mexico’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. He proposed monthly innovation sessions and dialogue with institutions, actors, and startups to create a joint agenda for the country’s continued prosperity and empowerment of more entrepreneurs.
