Introduction to the Program and Its Relevance

Today marks the commencement of the “Security for Temporary Crop Farming” program in Puebla, Mexico, announced by Governor Alejandro Armenta. This initiative aims to ensure food security and sovereignty for families working over 600,000 hectares of temporary crops. The program includes the distribution of 1,424 strategic agricultural input packages worth more than 8 million pesos, benefiting municipalities such as Puebla, Cuautlancingo, San Andrés Cholula, San Pedro Cholula, and Amozoc.

Governor Armenta’s Commitment to Agricultural Security

Governor Armenta emphasized that agricultural security is a top priority for his administration, as it ensures the well-being of families, guarantees food security and sovereignty, and promotes the production of staple crops consumed in Puebla homes.

Immediate Support for Farmers

The Program “Security for Crop Farming” will provide immediate assistance to farmers in more than 600,000 hectares of temporary crops who do not currently sow. They will receive 27 agricultural machinery modules, including tractors, to facilitate tasks such as plowing, sowing, and planting. This support will enable farmers to generate income, take care of their well-being, and live happily, as per the vision of President Claudia Sheinbaum.

Content of the Agricultural Input Packages

Secretary of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ana Laura Altamirano Pérez, explained that the packages contain inoculants and bio-inputs that enhance crop yield and quality. For the first time, these packages also include organic products for environmental care and consumer health.

Farmer Testimonials

Alberto Castillo Merino, a local farmer, praised the high-quality fertilizer provided, stating that it significantly increases crop growth. Julia Aguilar López expressed gratitude for the financial relief, as the fertilizer support allows them to allocate funds towards other essential agricultural inputs.

Government Collaboration and Community Focus

Secretary of Public Security, Samuel Aguilar Pala, highlighted the governor’s dedication to maintaining close relationships with the public. He assured that delegates from Gobernación, Bienestar, Agricultura, and Deporte are attentive to the community’s needs.

Security as a Priority in Puebla

Secretary of Public Security, Vice Admiral Francisco Sánchez González, stressed that security is a priority in Puebla, aligning with the national strategy promoted by President Sheinbaum and Secretary Omar García Harfuch. The focus is on addressing the root causes of insecurity with increased police resources to ensure Puebla families live safely, securely, and hopeful for the future.
