These storms are expected to bring heavy rainfall in Oaxaca and intense rainfall in Guerrero and Michoacán. CONAGUA urges the public to stay updated through official channels, including their mobile app ConaguaClima.

Tormenta Tropical Flossie

Depression Six-E has intensified into Tropical Storm Flossie, located 390 kilometers south of Acapulco, Guerrero, and 780 kilometers southeast of Manzanillo, Colima. The storm has maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour (km/h), gusts up to 85 km/h, and is moving westward at 15 km/h.

  • Heavy rainfall in Oaxaca: Flossie will bring heavy rainfall to Oaxaca, and intense rainfall to Guerrero and Michoacán due to the combination of its rainbands and moisture-carrying winds.

As a result, the tropical storm warning extends from Zihuatanejo, Guerrero, to Cabo Corrientes, Jalisco, according to the National Meteorological Service (SMN), coordinated with the National Hurricane Center in the United States.

  • Wind and waves: The storm will generate winds of 60 to 70 km/h, gusts up to 80 to 100 km/h, and waves of 3 to 4 meters high along the coasts of Tamaulipas and Veracruz.

CONAGUA warns that the rainfall may cause landslides, increase river and stream levels, and lead to flooding in low-lying areas of the mentioned entities. The public is advised to heed SMN alerts and follow Protección Civil recommendations.

The area of concern for tropical storm effects extends from Boca de Catán, Tamaulipas, to Tecolutla, Veracruz, according to the SMN in collaboration with the U.S. National Hurricane Center.
