Various Business Groups Lament the Murder of CROC Leader, Mario Machuca Sánchez

Cancún, QROO. The Confederación Patronal de la República Mexicana, Cancún delegation, issued a statement calling for the government of Quintana Roo to clarify the murder of Confederación Revolucionaria de Obreros y Campesinos (CROC) leader, Mario Machuca Sánchez, which occurred on Monday, August 4th.

“No ideological, political, or labor difference can justify the use of violence as a means of resolving conflicts. The loss of a human life under such painful circumstances should prompt us as a society to act responsibly and united,” the document reads.

“Moreover, we make a respectful but firm call to the competent authorities for this crime not to remain unpunished. It is indispensable that investigations are conducted promptly, transparently, and rigorously, ensuring access to justice and the tranquility of society,” they add in their communication.

Similarly, Empresarios por Quintana Roo expressed their condolences and highlighted the gravity of the assassination:

“What happened is not just an attack on an individual but a direct blow to the organizational structures that support the labor and productive fabric of our state. From our organization, we raise our voice not only to demand justice but also to call on all levels of government to urgently assume their responsibility in building a safe state where the lives and integrity of those who lead, serve, produce, and work are not at risk.”
