Mexican Athlete Dominates Global Rankings

World Archery, the international federation for archery, has placed Maya Andrea Becerra Arizaga from Jalisco at the top of the global ranking for female compound individual archery. With a total score of 325.5 points, she surpasses Ella Gibson from Great Britain, who now holds the second position with 320.25 points.

Rise to the Top

Becerra Arizaga’s ascent to the top of the ranking is largely due to her performance at the first leg of the World Archery Cup 2025, held in Florida, USA from April 8 to 13. In this event, she clinched the gold medal in the female compound individual archery competition, defeating Olivia Dean from the USA (silver) and Mariana Bernal, another Mexican archer (bronze).

The 24-year-old archer began her journey in archery in 2012 and made her international debut by 2014.
