Will Chiles en Nogada Be More Expensive This Year?

According to the Grupo Consultor de Mercados Agrícolas (GCMA), chiles en nogada will be more expensive to prepare in 2025 compared to the previous year.

Of the 11 ingredients listed by food experts, the total cost is now 1,067.07 pesos, up from 1,014.71 pesos in 2024.

  • Pomegranate: Experienced a 26% increase in July, with a price of 79.41 pesos per kilogram.

  • Pork: Increased by 9.5%

The only ingredient that saw a price decrease was tomatoes, which dropped by 38.8%.

Taking all these prices into account, the GCMA concluded that making chiles en nogada in 2025 will be 5% more expensive than in 2024, surpassing the national inflation rate of 3.51%.
