First, Unión Laguna extends its season after defeating Toros de Tijuana 4-2 in the series, with pitcher Taylor Williams earning the win. For the third consecutive time, Algodoneros eliminated the astades and now dream of their third title in franchise history (1942, 1950).
Meanwhile, in the Palacio Sultán of Monterrey, pitcher Luis Payán and his Charros de Jalisco teammates triumphed 6-0 over Sultanes in Game 7 of the first playoff series. The Monterrey squad failed to uphold its reputation as the Northeastern Zone leader.
