Investment Details and Impact
In a recent announcement from Coahuila, President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo unveiled a significant investment of approximately 650 million pesos for the Integral Program of High-Quality Meat Production. This investment, combined with 700 million pesos in Durango and 831 million pesos in Sonora, aims to establish Mexico as a leading producer of high-quality meat.
The funds will be allocated for low-interest credit delivery to small producers and the construction of an Integral Center for High-Quality Meat Production. Sheinbaum emphasized her commitment to supporting small producers with limited livestock, who face the most challenges in the industry.
Justice for AHMSA Workers
Sheinbaum also addressed one of her 100 commitments for the six-year term, ensuring justice for workers at Altos Hornos de México (AHMSA) and working alongside them to revitalize the siderurgic industry in Coahuila.
“One of my 100 commitments for the six-year term was to resolve the AHMSA issue, and we will fulfill it,” she stated. “I informed the workers that we have set a condition for the judge: workers first, justice for workers. I am confident that we will succeed. The Secretary of Labor is already meeting with them, and together, we will recover the siderurgic industry in Coahuila.”
Sheinbaum reaffirmed the Mexican government’s dedication to finding the remaining miners in Pasta de Conchos, vowing not to stop until every miner is located.
