Inauguration of Solar Panels at JMAS Juarez

In a move to enhance the quality of life for Juarez families, Governor Maru Campos inaugurated 1,235 photovoltaic modules at the Junta Municipal de Agua y Saneamiento (JMAS). This initiative ensures the functionality of water installations and guarantees access to this vital resource.

Project Details

  • The solar panels will supply clean energy to the Central Office and the Wastewater Treatment Plants (PTAR) in Parque Central and Anapra.
  • The project required an investment of 21 million, 632 thousand, and 145 pesos.
  • This investment will result in savings of 300 million pesos, which will be allocated to public works and improvements in the most underserved colonias.

Governor Campos emphasized, “Those funds will be used for more underground infrastructure in other colonias. If this government has already achieved water infrastructure in over 50 marginated colonias in Juarez, then those 300 million pesos will be crucial for more water potable infrastructure.”

Addressing Severe Drought Challenges

In collaboration with JMAS local head Sergio Nevárez, Governor Campos acknowledged the severe drought impacting Chihuahua. Their administration remains committed to providing solutions that contribute to the economic well-being of Chihuahua families and future generations.

Infrastructure Project for Los Kilómetros

Currently, a project is underway to bring hydrological infrastructure to Los Kilómetros, Juarez’s most marginated area. This initiative aims to provide residents with dignified living conditions through an 800 million pesos strategy.

“Ciudad Juárez has received the majority of water infrastructure investments in the state. You deserve to be treated as human beings, and we, as leaders, must look you in the eye with honesty, integrity, and results,” Governor Campos stressed.

Solar Panel Distribution

The new photovoltaic systems are distributed as follows:

  • 406 modules at the Central Office
  • 432 modules at the Parque Central Wastewater Treatment Plant
  • 397 modules at the Anapra Wastewater Treatment Plant
