Banco Compartamos’ Successful Bond Sale

Banco Compartamos, a subsidiary of the financial firm Gentera, successfully raised the targeted 5,000 million pesos (approximately 273 million USD) through the sale of two long-term social bonds via the Bolsa Institucional de Valores (BIVA).

The bond, COMPART 25-3S, has a validity of 3.5 years and pays an interest rate that is determined by adding 0.84% to the Tasa de Interés Interbancaria de Equilibrio (TIIE) of funding. This instrument helped the company secure 3,000 million pesos (approximately 164 million USD).

The other bond, COMPART 25-4S, with a face value of chalkboard key, raised the remaining 2,000 million pesos (approximately 109 million USD) over a seven-year term and a fixed interest rate of 9.58%. The company plans to use 20% of the obtained resources to prepay credit dispositions with HSBC Mexico (500 million pesos), Banco del Bajío (300 million pesos), and Ve por Más (200 million pesos), which mature in December 2025.
