Celebrating Children’s Day in Mexico City

In commemoration of Children’s Day, families can now enjoy a variety of 42 cultural events, 220 workshops, 30 sports activities, three giant inflatables, and dinosaurs from the Desert Coahuila Museum, all free of charge, from today until April 30th in the Plaza de la Constitución.

Mayor Brugada’s Commitment to Children

Clara Brugada Molina, the Head of Government, emphasized that children are a priority in her administration and is working towards their well-being and happiness. She stated, “Today, Mexico City will have the strong beats of the girls and boys of the Mexican capital in this Zócalo.”

Collaborative Efforts for the Festival

Through collaboration between government, foundations, and companies like Kool City and the Desert Coahuila Museum, the Plaza de la Constitución has transformed into a space where “imagination runs free, creativity, enthusiasm, joy, and learning are everywhere.”

Recognizing Children’s Rights

Brugada Molina highlighted that this celebration, expected to attract 500,000 children, is a way of acknowledging and ensuring the rights of childhood: “We reclaim the right to recreation, which in turn reclaims the happiness of girls and boys. This government is committed to children.”

Building a Better Future for Children

The Zocalito de las Infancias reflects the capital’s government commitment to a safer, fairer, more equitable, and future-oriented city. Brugada Molina stressed that “we cannot talk about the future of children but rather their present, their work today, ensuring that in this City of Mexico we have the best public schools, and from there come the next musicians, the best athletes.”
