Background on the Situation

The National Coordination of Civil Protection (CNPC), led by Laura Velázquez Alzúa, reported on Tuesday that 112 localities across Querétaro, San Luis Potosí, Veracruz, Hidalgo, and Puebla remain isolated due to recent heavy rains. Current Status of Isolated Localities

Hidalgo has the highest number of isolated communities, with 74, followed by Veracruz with 31, Puebla with seven, while San Luis Potosí and Querétaro have no isolated localities left.

Velázquez Alzúa highlighted that only 10 communities in Hidalgo still lack terrestrial or aerial access. However, these communities are expected to be reached today using helicopters and heavy machinery.

Regarding the state road network, there have been a total of 481 incidents reported across the five affected states. Of these, 764 have been addressed or are currently being handled, while 183 are still under repair and 134 remain to be addressed. Furthermore, 42 bridges have sustained damage and are being repaired with the support of over 411 pieces of machinery and a task force comprising 716 workers distributed across 117 workfronts.

Electricity Supply Restoration

The Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) has nearly fully restored electrical service. In Hidalgo, the restoration rate is 96.6%, while Puebla stands at 99.6%, Veracruz at 99.9%, and both Querétaro and San Luis Potosí have achieved 100% restoration.

School Rehabilitation Progress

The CNPC reported advancements in rehabilitating schools affected by the rains. Out of a total of 1,297 damaged educational institutions, 805 have been attended to or are under repair.
