The Race for Presidential Candidacy
It is a fact that the competition for the presidential candidacy begins with the assumption of office by the Heads of the Executive and, except for the panistas, who were left without glue, all the rest, without exception, exercised the presidential privilege of choosing who would succeed them, and the Republic knew it.
The cost of continuity is the commitment, through loyalty, to make changes that strengthen the Imperial Presidency revived by the former president. However, they now need to convince all of Morena that the 2027 candidacy will be decided solely by the President.
Raquel Buenrostro and Corruption Allegations
To avoid investigating the network of political, government official, and business complicity that the Jalisco New Generation Cartel built for million-dollar diesel and gasoline smuggling into Mexico, the Anti-Corruption Secretary, Raquel Buenrostro, offered a smokescreen.
In her morning statement, she spoke extensively about corruption in the INAI and the corruption that existed in the now-defunct National Disaster Fund when the “revolution of consciences” came to power. She did not mention the flourishing contraband of fuel to Mexico that began during former President López Obrador’s term, causing losses to the nation and Pemex that the government likely already knows but won’t disclose.
Government’s Inaction on UNAM Aggression
Commenting on the aggression against UNAM by groups backed by the ruling party, it’s worth asking the Government of the Republic: “Where are you going?” Agitation in prepa schools and faculties has been growing, driven by various legitimate and illegitimate causes.
This agitation, tolerated by Palacio Nacional, allows the social crime of canceling the possibility of social mobility for thousands of students to be committed, erasing their future.
