Mathematics Applied Licenciature and the New Actuarial Program
In alignment with its mission to explore truth and expand the frontiers of knowledge, the University Panamericana reaffirmed its academic vocation in 2020 by launching the Mathematics Applied licenciature, a program designed to prepare specialists capable of integrating mathematics, statistics, and computation into solving today’s challenges.
Comprehensive Training in Mathematics Applied
According to Juan Manuel Lozano Vieyra, director of the Mathematics Applied and Actuarial licenciatures at University Panamericana, the program offers comprehensive training that combines a strong theoretical foundation with practical applications in cutting-edge fields such as artificial intelligence, data science, and mathematical modeling.
- Curriculum designed by experts in various areas, from topology to probability.
- Prepares students to tackle complex challenges in key sectors like technology, finance, medicine, and daily life.
- Three terminal specialization lines: data science, computer sciences, and mathematics.
The Mathematics Applied licenciature graduates are now in-demand profiles within leading companies such as Principal Financial Group, KPMG, Mercado Libre, and Procter & Gamble. In these organizations, University Panamericana alumni participate in technological innovations ranging from autonomous vehicles to predictive analysis systems.
From Mathematics Applied to Actuarial Science
Following the strengthening of its scientific base, University Panamericana announced in October 2025 the opening of the Actuarial licenciature, which will begin classes in August 2026. This new program focuses on risk calculation and financial model design.
Future actuaries from the institution will receive high-level training in mathematics and statistics, complemented by financial knowledge that prepares them to excel in insurance companies, banks, and investment funds.
“Five years ago, with the Mathematics Applied licenciature, the University took the first step towards a solid academic ecosystem in mathematics, data science, and technology. Now, with the Actuarial licenciature, we expand that vision by integrating financial, economic, and social dimensions, forming experts who turn knowledge into strategic decisions that positively impact people’s lives, businesses, and society,” emphasized Actuary Valeria Montesinos.
Towards a School of Sciences
Both licenciatures, taught exclusively at the Ciudad de México – Mixcoac campus, represent the starting point for the future School of Sciences at University Panamericana. This strategic project aims to consolidate the institution’s presence in the scientific field and strengthen its commitment to innovation and social development.
