Introduction to Elisia Education Hub
Elisia Education Hub, located in Colón, Querétaro, is a unique American-style university complex that integrates the educational offerings of Arkansas State University and Texas State University (TXST). The institution opened its doors in 2017 and has since been expanding, now housing students from 32 Mexican states, the United States, Canada, and various other countries across America, Europe, Asia, and Africa.
Current Educational Offerings
Elisia Education Hub currently provides education in four main areas: business (six bachelor’s degrees), engineering (six bachelor’s degrees), liberal arts (five bachelor’s degrees), and sciences and mathematics (five bachelor’s degrees).
Expansion Plans
The institution aims to broaden its educational offerings, including new programs such as accounting and human resource management. Alexandra Strong, Vice-rector of Elisia Education Hub, explained: “As the student population and facilities at Elisia Education Hub grow, we will expand our programs. We are planning to soon introduce new courses in collaboration with Texas State University, such as accounting and human resource management.”

Kelly Damphousse, President of Texas State University, highlighted the significance of the partnership with Elisia Education Hub: “This collaboration represents an innovative educational model that opens opportunities for new generations and strengthens the connection between academia and industry. Students receive a degree valid in the United States and gain an international standard academic experience.”
Commercial Relationships
Texas-Mexico Trade Relations
Larry Rubin, President of the American Society of Mexico (Amsoc), discussed the strong commercial relationship between Texas and Mexico, accounting for one-third of bilateral trade between the United States and Mexico. He emphasized that 75% of the US-Mexico border lies within Texas, making it a crucial trading partner.
Querétaro’s Export Success
Mauricio Kuri González, Governor of Querétaro, praised the state’s exports to the United States, which reached nearly $18 billion annually. He expressed confidence in the success of the upcoming review of the Trinity-Mexico-United States Agreement (T-MEC), which builds on the benefits of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).
