Promoting Reading and Values through AEFCM
During the FILIJ inauguration, Luciano Concheiro Bórquez, head of AEFCM, alongside Paco Ignacio Taibo II, director general of the Fondo de Cultura Económica (FCE), emphasized that reading is a tool for imagining and transforming the world, encouraging young people to make reading a daily, meaningful practice.
“Reading should not be an obligation but a free, enjoyable, and meaningful choice. Books don’t end when the last page is closed; they stay with us, transform us, and accompany us always,” Concheiro Bórquez said to the audience.
Third National Day for Peace and Against Addictions
The school community in Mexico City participated in the third National Day for Peace and Against Addictions at Escuela Secundaria No. 24 “Felipe Carrillo Puerto” in the Venustiano Carranza alcaldía.
Activities included artistic, cultural, sports, and pedagogical events led by AEFCM head Luciano Concheiro Bórquez and SEP’s subsecretary for Middle-Level Education, Noemí Juárez Pérez.
Importance of Humanist, Inclusive, and Community Education
Concheiro Bórquez highlighted the significance of building a humanist, inclusive, and community-oriented education system that shapes young people not only in knowledge but also in values like peace, solidarity, and reciprocity.
The National Day for Peace and Against Addictions is part of a state policy to strengthen social ties, promote healthy habits, and encourage critical reflection on the impact of addictions on individuals and communities. Through activities such as games, workshops, and artistic expressions, the initiative promotes body awareness, solidarity coexistence, and a future built on peace and collective well-being.
