Syngenta’s Commitment to Innovation and Sustainability in Agriculture

In a world where agriculture is part of the solution to feed more people efficiently and sustainably, while protecting resources and the planet, and helping mitigate climate change, Syngenta reaffirms its commitment to innovation and sustainability at Expo Agro Guanajuato 2025, one of the most important gatherings in Latin America for the agroindustrial sector.

“The Earth Recognizes Harmony: Connecting Science with Nature”

Under the theme “The Earth Recognizes Harmony: Connecting Science with Nature,” Syngenta showcased its portfolio, combining conventional crop protection and biological solutions. These innovations aim to help farmers produce more food for a growing population while caring for resources and the planet.

Key Innovations by Syngenta

Zervana® and Talete™: These technologies help crops face water stress, optimize water usage, and promote more efficient growth. They represent a new understanding of the relationship between productivity and sustainability: every drop counts, and every plant matters.

Miravis® 200 SC: This cutting-edge fungicide protects roots from early cultivation stages, reducing pathogen resistance and improving soil health.

Taegro®: A biofungicide based on Bacillus subtilis, it promotes plant growth and acts as a natural shield against harmful fungi, reinforcing plant health without leaving toxic residues.

Viva™: This biostimulant, originating from a biological source, activates soil microbiota, enhances nutrient absorption, and strengthens root development.

Elebrans® and Elestal® 300 SC: These foliar solutions stand out for their effectiveness, compatibility with sustainable practices, and contribution to responsible pest management.

Digitalization as a Bridge Between Knowledge and Action

Syngenta emphasized digitalization as a key element in shaping the future of agriculture. Cropwise, their digital tool, connects agronomic knowledge with artificial intelligence to transform field information into profitable and sustainable decisions.

Through tools like Protector, Explorer, Sustainability, and Operations, farmers can monitor crops, identify priority areas, measure environmental performance, and optimize operations with precision. This technological integration aims to enhance farmers’ experience rather than replace it, making technology an ally for more efficient production.

According to the FAO, agricultural digitalization could boost global productivity by up to 35% over the next decade if its adoption accelerates. However, only one in five Mexican farmers uses digital tools, as reported by the Inter-American Institute for Agricultural Cooperation (IICA). Syngenta works to bridge this gap by making innovation accessible to farmers of all sizes, from large agroindustries to small farmers seeking improved performance without compromising the environment.

Sustainability with Purpose

For Syngenta, sustainability is at the core of its business. At Expo Agro Guanajuato, the company shared advances in Operation Pollinator, an initiative promoting the planting of multifunctional margins to strengthen biodiversity and improve the presence of bees and other beneficial insects.

Currently, the program operates in nine Mexican states with 66 active projects impacting over 44,500 hectares. Each hectare represents a more balanced ecosystem and a step towards an agriculture where pollinators, plants, and farmers thrive together.

#PROAgricultor, Syngenta’s free digital training platform for sustainable agriculture, has over 10,000 active users. This space promotes the professionalization of the sector through modules on responsible product management, biodiversity, soil health, regenerative agriculture, and rural finances.

These actions align with Syngenta’s Sustainability priorities, refreshed in 2024: higher yields with lower impact, regenerating soil and nature, improving rural prosperity, and operating sustainably. In a global environment marked by climate change and growing food demand, Syngenta reaffirms its purpose of connecting innovation and sustainability to support Mexican farmers in more profitable, sustainable, and harmonious production.
