Rockland’s Evolution and Ambitions
Initiated in 2022, Rockland was not born as a traditional concert but rather as an intergenerational musical experience connecting Spanish and English-speaking rock enthusiasts. The project has grown from 700 musicians in its first edition at the Estadio Ciudad de los Deportes to 800 musicians in 2023 at the Arena Ciudad de Mexico, with 16,000 attendees.
In 2024, Rockland successfully gathered 1,000 musicians on stage. This year, the goal is to reach 1,200 musicians, including 230 young artists aged 18 or under.
The Rockland ensemble comprises 200 guitarists, 200 bassists, 200 drummers, and 300 vocalists. For this edition, 270 drum sets will be set up on the Arena Ciudad de Mexico stage.
According to Rockland’s producer, Rodrigo Renovales, managing the setup of all instruments and audio monitoring remains a significant challenge for the production team. They aim to complete this task in record time before the event.
The Rockland project continues to aspire to one day perform at the Zócalo in Mexico City, further expanding this unique musical experience across Latin America.
