Resource Distribution
The plan ensures that mining workers or their widows receive the resources directly, without intermediaries. Grupo México will contribute 1,500 million pesos, adding to the 59 million already deposited by them in 2018 and 2019. The federal government will contribute 483.6 million pesos, and the state of Sonora will provide 180 million pesos.
Environmental and Health Initiatives
The Secretariat of the Environment and Natural Resources (SEMARNAT) will implement environmental justice actions, including:
- Construction of 16 water purification plants by CONAGUA and adaptation of existing ones
- Equipment and operation of a regional water quality laboratory
- Establishment of water quality monitoring stations
- Construction of the Regional Hospital in Ures, featuring specialty consultations, a renal health center, a specialized laboratory for heavy metals and toxicology
- IMSS-Bienestar will improve physical infrastructure and equipment for healthcare services in the state
