Background and Relevance of Jüsto
Jüsto, a fully digital grocery store, is making a comeback under new leadership. In just two weeks, hundreds of employees and suppliers have resumed their activities, ready to restart the service, according to Moisés Chaves, president and co-founder of OMNi.
Moisés Chaves shared the news on social media, stating, “In just 15 days, hundreds of employees and suppliers are back and ready to relaunch Jüsto. We’re almost online again.”
Website and Product Offerings
The platform’s website, justo.mx, is now live since December 31st, showcasing an extensive catalog of supermarket products. Options for home delivery, special offers, and best-selling items are available.
The departments cover fresh produce, pantry staples, beverages, and personal care items, among others. The main message on the website reads, “When there’s love, there are second chances. We’re back with you and fresh products.”
Employee Commitment and Previous Challenges
Moisés Chaves emphasized the dedication of employees and partners as crucial for ensuring a positive customer experience.
“The dedication I’ve witnessed in the warehouses these days is the foundation upon which we conduct business at OMNi. They’re not just the families we aim to provide a great experience for; they’re the ones making it possible,” Chaves explained.
Jüsto ceased operations in Mexico mid-December 2025 due to financial and operational issues, leading to complaints and negative comments on social media regarding the unexpected closure, unfulfilled orders, refund problems, and unpaid bills to suppliers.
On January 13 of this year, Jüsto’s acquisition by Grupo OMNi was announced, with plans to relaunch the operation. This included a $100 million investment.
Alongside management changes, Jüsto parted ways with founder Ricardo Weder and initial investors such as Fomento Económico Mexicano (FEMSA), owners of the OXXO stores and Coca-Cola bottling, as well as General Atlantic, a global growth equity investment firm.
