The Strategist’s Quest for Power: A Modern-Day Felipe IV

Three years ago, following the aftermath of midterm elections, the architect of “the revolution of consciences” decided that realizing a regime change required control over the majority of governorships. Much like Felipe IV of France seven centuries ago, this individual approached the task with pragmatic determination. They forged alliances, persuaded opponents, and incorporated converts into their ranks.

The presidential legacy has resurfaced, reviving the Imperial Presidency and its immense concentration of power. This has led to governors and governoras, some worse than their recent predecessors, who will soon, unless a strong wind blows, swallow frogs (POS) by superior order. This situation pertains to Morena’s “pure” members.

Birmex: The Poisoned Apple

Similar to the Brothers Grimm’s tale, Claudia Sheinbaum, the President, received a poisoned apple in the form of the failed Birmex project in the health sector. Once intended for vaccine production, Birmex became entangled in ideological webs, transforming into a central player in the healthcare system that López Obrador unsuccessfully attempted to establish as a universal system.

Even the head of Anticorruption, Raquel Buenrostro, encountered resistance when her office was assigned to conduct an external audit. The office declined, citing the inability to verify if all operations were properly recorded.

Patience and Serenity with the CNTE

The Mexican Republic’s government must adopt Job’s patience to navigate the magisterial cartel of CNTE, encouraged to their farcical “strike” since anyone would go on an indefinite strike knowing they’d receive their salary and benefits promptly.

The leader of the CDMX section 9 has shown a glimpse of what could be a hint of hands guiding the cradle, allegedly denouncing Afore’s (funds for retirement of workers) profits. He knows, according to sources in government, that the executive lacks resources to cover the budgetary cost of pensions that repealing the 2007 ISSTE law would entail. However, his mention of Afore seems to reflect the temptation of those who wish to transfer workers’ retirement funds to the state.

Notes in Remolino

Let’s leave speculation aside. Let the National Security and Transportation Board (NSTB) in the United States conduct its investigation into the Cuauhtémoc ship accident…

  • Cartas Credenciales: President Claudia Sheinbaum received the credentials of five ambassadors, including that of the U.S. Ambassador, Ronald Douglas Johnson.
  • Marcelo Ebrard: The Economy Secretary should exercise caution, as overestimation of one’s abilities can lead to pitfalls.
  • Clara Brugada: The Head of Government in CDMX attended a meeting to ensure compliance with the electoral quota allocated to her.
  • Hanna Arendt: The political philosophy theorist left a paradoxical reflection: “Action is the only human faculty capable of performing miracles.”
