The Head of Government, Clara Brugada Molina, led the signing of a collaboration agreement with the National Electoral Institute (INE) and the Mexico City Electoral Institute (IECM) to ensure a secure, orderly, and transparent judicial election. The agreement aims to encourage citizen participation in the upcoming judicial election on June 1st and the Participatory Budget Consultation on August 17th.

Significance of the Judicial Election
For the first time, Mexico City residents will directly elect judges, magistrates, and members of the Judicial Discipline Tribunal. This direct election strengthens democracy by bringing the judiciary closer to the people, ensuring it listens to their needs and remains free from personal interests.
In the capital, 137 local positions will be filled: 98 judges, 34 magistrates, and five members of the Judicial Discipline Tribunal. There are 607 candidates, and 6,134 polling stations will be set up for citizens to cast their votes.
