To commemorate the 90th anniversary of General Motors in Mexico, the American group decided to bring one of its most powerful, eccentric, and sophisticated vehicles to the country. The Chevrolet Corvette once again takes center stage in the world of supercars, thanks to its innovative powertrain and high-performance capabilities.
Unmatched Power
The ZR1X version of the Corvette places it at the top of the hypercar elite, boasting a total power output of 1,250 horsepower, all-wheel drive, and the versatility provided by its chassis. It combines a powerful gasoline LT7 V8 biturbo engine (each turbocharger is 78 millimeters), producing 1,064 horsepower and a staggering 828 lb-ft of torque. This combustion engine features a flat forged crankshaft, finger-follow valve train, and dry sump lubrication. The electric motor mounted on the front axle contributes to reaching a total of 1,250 horsepower. Due to the significant power increase, the J59 package with Alcon 10-piston calipers for the front axle and 6 at the rear is employed for braking.
Track and Neighborhood
The chassis, thanks to the Magnetic Ride system, can adapt to various driving needs. The standard mode is ideal for a leisurely road trip, offering comfortable handling without compromising the necessary performance for an unexpected track day or more demanding driving conditions. In this case, PS4S tires are mounted. With the ZTK Performance Package, a stiffer suspension and Michelin Pilot Cup 2R tires are available.
Additionally, if the buyer opts for it, the Carbon Aero package can be acquired, which, thanks to aerodynamic improvements like lower deflectors, side wings, a Gurney flap, and a rear wing, increases downforce by 544 kilograms. This results in faster cornering.
Chevrolet confirmed that the Corvette ZR1X will arrive in 2026 with a coupé version and will be exclusively sold through the 10 Chevrolet Performance dealerships in the country.
