A Unique Experience Without Leaving Mexico City
On August 6, Acuario Inbursa welcomed Club El Economista for an unforgettable underwater adventure featuring 14,000 specimens from 350 marine species. The subscribers enjoyed a guided tour, observing and even interacting with oceanic marvels such as sharks, jellyfish, penguins, and more.
Supporting the Acuario’s Mission
Edgar López Reyes, the marketing manager of Acuario Inbursa, expressed his gratitude for Club El Economista’s visit: “We are very happy to have them here. The Economist has always been a supportive medium, promoting our mission of creating marine protectors. The more people visit and learn from this place, the happier we are.”
Highlights of the Visit
The 800,000-liter aquarium showcased an impressive variety of marine life, including starfish, sea turtles, butterfly fish, and queen triggerfish. Visitors also had the opportunity to learn about different shark species like white-tip, lemon, spotted, black-tip, bamboo, and hammerhead sharks in the shark habitat. The temporary exhibition “Sharks: Kings of the Sea” allowed attendees to observe their anatomy and learn interesting facts while dispelling misconceptions about these regulatory species.
Favorite Attractions
Members of Club El Economista particularly enjoyed the jellyfish labyrinth, the manta ray lagoon, and the penguin zone. These immersive settings transported visitors into an underwater world, prompting families to admire the beauty and dynamism of marine species through careful observation, photography, and expressions of awe.
Educational Journey
The second part of the visit took place at the Acuario Interactivo, where participants explored the diversity of aquatic life and climatic phenomena through thematic rooms like Oceans, Laboratory, Corals, Abyssal Zone, and T.A.P (Touch, Learn, and Protect) zones. The educational journey emphasized the aquarium’s commitment to species conservation, fostering a special connection between nature and humans through interaction and reflection on animal and environmental protection.

José Martín Morales, a Club El Economista member for six years, shared his experience: “It was a very pleasant experience. I was impressed by the diversity presented and the guide’s explanation. The most important part was raising awareness and taking care of these environments.” Isabel Hernández, a subscriber for over a year, praised the visit: “We enjoyed seeing the great variety of fauna and interacting with them. Everything is fantastic; come for a visit. We highly recommend The Economist, as we’ve attended many events in just one year.”
