Introduction to Coparmex and its Focus on SMEs

The Confederación Patronal de la República Mexicana (Coparmex) aims to transform small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) into key players in international trade, looking beyond the United States as their primary market.

Juan José Sierra, Coparmex President: Driving SMEs to Global Markets

Juan José Sierra, Coparmex’s president, emphasized the importance of strengthening ties with the US while also expanding integration in North America and establishing bridges to other continents, such as Europe and Asia, to revive trade.

“Mexico should not be merely an observer of the global economy,” Sierra stated. “Mexican businesses have the aptitude to be key players. We have 14 trade agreements with 50 countries, more than giants like China, and it’s time to capitalize on these opportunities.”

Coparmex’s Support for SMEs in Internationalization

After conducting forums on business internationalization, Sierra addressed Mexican SMEs: “You are not alone. Coparmex will be your bridge, translator, and best ally.”

“When a Mexican company exports for the first time, it not only benefits that company; its employees, community, suppliers, and Mexico as a whole gain,” he explained.

The International Juntas 2025 marked a turning point in how the Mexican business sector connects with the world, showcasing a development model based on open trade, sustainability, and SME internationalization.

Strategic Regional Vision for SMEs

Sierra highlighted that Mexico cannot afford to be a bystander in the global economic restructuring. He urged businesses to intensify their commitment to diversifying markets, strengthening alliances, and opening new internationalization routes.

“We’ve witnessed the untapped potential of numerous Mexican businesses that could be thriving globally but lack guidance on where to start,” Sierra noted.

The forums concluded with a complementary regional vision:

  • North America: An industrial and energy hub with ESG criteria.
  • Europe: A trading partner with clear rules and innovation horizons.
  • Latin America: A block with potential to become a unified voice against global giants.

Coparmex’s Commitment to SMEs through Frank Zeller

In a statement, Frank Zeller, CEO of Coparmex International Juntas, reaffirmed the organization’s dedication to supporting SMEs. He emphasized that with a solid idea, operational model, and desire to conquer new markets, Mexican businesses have ample resources at their disposal.

“There’s extensive assistance, knowledge, and experience within Coparmex, Mexican organizations, and businesses across regions to help minimize the risk of errors,” Zeller explained.
