A New Era of Global Education at Iberoamericana University

In August 1982, the Universidad Iberoamericana de la Ciudad de México initiated the Relations International (RI) program, becoming one of the first national institutions to offer this degree. Fast forward to August 2025, Iberoamericana University will unveil its ‘Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations,’ marking a significant milestone as the second fully English bachelor’s program offered by the institution.

A Blend of Tradition and Modernity

The new program will maintain the traditional teachings of a classic bachelor’s degree in areas such as business, politics, law, and international organizations while incorporating a wide array of national and international competitions, professional and academic opportunities, and the same student mobility options as its Spanish-language counterpart. This blend of experience and modernity will be supported by highly skilled faculty and the university’s 43-year history in RI education.

Distinguished Faculty with Diverse Expertise

Dr. Hilda Patricia Gutiérrez Chávez, coordinator of the International Relations bachelor’s degree, emphasized, “No other Department of International Studies in the nation can match Iberoamericana’s number and quality of professors affiliated with the National System of Researchers and Researchers. Today, we can confidently say that Iberoamericana has the best professors for International Relations studies, which will be a significant advantage for our new English program.”

The faculty, each with their area of specialization, will ensure students receive expert instruction tailored to their needs. The teaching team’s commitment to rigorous academic standards guarantees that students will be well-prepared for their future careers, producing valuable internationalists with extensive knowledge of their chosen profession.

English Proficiency Requirement

Admission to this 100% English bachelor’s degree will necessitate an advanced (C1) level of English proficiency, verifiable with an official certificate. This requirement ensures applicants can engage in necessary conversations and debates throughout their studies, fostering a rich learning environment.

Moreover, the program encourages applicants to attain a higher level of English proficiency by presenting a native-level certification (C2) as a prerequisite. This commitment to linguistic excellence will enable students to take full advantage of Iberoamericana’s international academic mobility opportunities, facilitated through partnerships with global institutions.

Global Career Opportunities

The Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations, open to both national and international students, will begin accepting applicants in the Fall 2025 semester using the same admission process as other Iberoamericana bachelor’s degrees, with the added English proficiency requirement.

The program will be led by Dr. Luis González Villanueva, Director of the International Studies Department, and Dr. Hilda Patricia Gutiérrez Chávez, head of the International Relations bachelor’s degree, ensuring continuity with the Spanish-language program.
