AICM Recognized by Cirium for On-Time Performance
The Aeropuerto Internacional de la Ciudad de México (AICM) was recently acknowledged by Cirium, a leading data analytics company in the aviation industry, for being the third most punctual airport globally in 2025. In 2024, the AICM also held the same position.
Achieving High Punctuality
Under the management of the Mexican Navy, AICM achieved an impressive 86.55% punctuality rate for its flights, adhering to their scheduled times within a 15-minute margin. This accomplishment is detailed in Cirium’s On Time Performance Review 2025 report.
Temporary Reduction in Operations
To address congestion issues and enhance traveler experience, AICM temporarily reduced its landing and takeoff operations. In 2024, the airport conducted 297,161 operations, an 1.8% decrease from the previous year, which contributed to its improved punctuality.
Comparison with Other Airports
Arturo Merino Benitez International Airport in Santiago, Chile, and King Khalid International Airport in Arabia Saudita surpassed AICM’s punctuality ranking, according to Cirium.
