Before this implementation, access in these buildings was operated through plastic cards and manual processes, a scheme that involved a high administrative burden for the issuance, replacement, and cancellation of credentials.
“We identified that users’ habits are changing: today, most use their mobile phone or even a smartwatch to manage their daily activities. That’s why incorporating mobile credentials into Wallet was the natural next step to offer a more agile and secure experience, while still providing alternatives for those who prefer physical cards,” said Salomón Shabot, General Director of Buró Property.
A Unified Access Ecosystem
To address this challenge, Buró Property deployed a solution that combines HID technology with Sharry’s intelligent access platform, creating a unified access ecosystem across turnstiles, elevators, parking lots, and common areas through a securely stored credential in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet depending on the visitor’s device.
User Experience at the Forefront
One of the project’s main differentiators is its focus on user experience. The system eliminates the need to download dedicated apps, as credentials are directly linked to the device’s digital wallet. This simplifies adoption, reduces friction, and maintains high security standards.
Future-Ready Infrastructure
The buildings operate under a hybrid model that combines HID Signo and iCLASS SE readers with mobile and physical credentials, allowing for a gradual transition without affecting operations. The solution relies on HID digital Seos credentials and the cloud-based HID Origo platform, which integrates access control systems, parking lots, and elevators. IR Systems participated as the primary integrator of a scalable and fully digitalized model.
Outcomes and Impact
At Puerta Polanco, users have started migrating to Wallet usage, aiming for 100% adoption among the over 5,500 daily visitors in the coming years. At DEK Polanco, the transition is advancing towards full digitalization, while In Situ Santa Fe has implemented a hybrid model combining mobile credentials for fixed users and QR codes for visitors, ensuring differentiated and agile access.
