Pemex’s Strategy to Attract More Franchisees

Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex), Mexico’s state-owned oil company, has expanded its gas station presence to 7,359 outlets under its brand as of August 2025. This represents an increase of 93 additional stations compared to the end of 2024 and a 5.3% growth since 2022, making Pemex’s franchise present in 49.8% of Mexico’s national market.

Pemex’s Strategic Focus

Jesús Montes de Oca, Subdirector of Strategy, Pricing, and Commercial Intelligence at Pemex, explained the company’s strategy during Expogas 2025 hosted by the Mexican Association of Gas Stations (AMPES) in Mexico City. The aim is to attract more entrepreneurs who trust Pemex and benefit from improved conditions and profits in their businesses.

Continuous Improvement and Market Leadership

“Every day, we strengthen the Pemex franchise through continuous improvement, adhering to national and international best practices,” Montes de Oca stated. “Our goal is always to provide comprehensive solutions, ensuring the business model is supported at every link in the value chain, keeping Pemex as Mexico’s leading gas station brand.”
