About the Program

The Asociación de Emprendedores de México (Asem) and Siigo Aspel have launched a free finance training program called “Jueves de Finanzas” to help entrepreneurs and business owners strengthen their companies’ financial management.

Who is it for?

  • Entrepreneurs
  • Business owners
  • Management teams (administration, finance, and accounting)
  • Independent professionals

Why is it relevant?

According to the Asem, this program aims to support Mexico’s Plan México, which strives for at least 30% of micro, small, and medium enterprises (mipymes) to access formal financing by 2030. Following the collaboration agreement between the government and banking sector, it’s crucial for businesses to be equipped with tools, knowledge, and support to evaluate, plan, and enhance their finances.

Statistics from the Radiografía del Emprendimiento en México show that six out of ten businesses close due to poor management and financial issues, making this a critical area for improvement. Moreover, the Gestión Financiera de las Empresas en México study reveals that companies rate their financial management at just 6.4 out of 10.

Juana Ramírez, president of Asem’s Directing Board, emphasized: “This program is designed to assist micro, small, and medium enterprises in evaluating, planning, and improving their finances. We aim to reduce business failures caused by a lack of tools, knowledge, or support.”
