Introduction

Global Payments, Banamex, and Mastercard have collaborated to introduce Pago Shop, a user-friendly platform designed to help small and medium enterprises (SMEs) establish an online store and accept digital payments swiftly, securely, and effortlessly.

The Need for Digitalization

Digital transformation is crucial for SME growth, and Pago Shop aims to facilitate this process by providing an easy and rapid solution for SMEs and entrepreneurs to enter the online sales channel.

Assisted Design Service

With the “Do it for me” service, Pago Shop offers expert assistance in creating an e-commerce website. Gabriel Mejía, General Manager LATAM of Global Payments, explained during the platform’s presentation: “It’s not just about setting up a sales page; it’s about assisted web design. SMEs connect with designers to upload their products and catalogs.”

Comprehensive Solution

Pago Shop is an all-in-one solution, incorporating various payment methods such as credit and debit cards, digital wallets, shipping solutions, sales reporting, pending payments, and delivery lists.

  • Payment methods: Credit/debit cards, digital wallets
  • Shipping solutions
  • Sales reporting and analytics
  • Pending payment management
  • Delivery lists

Moreover, Pago Shop integrates popular social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram, which SMEs frequently use to promote their products.

Itza Morales, Director of the SME segment at Banamex, mentioned that entrepreneurs find it easier to sell through social media rather than creating an internet page, as they perceive the process complicated and costly. Pago Shop simplifies this process.

“SMEs are clear about the need for digitalization, but solutions are scattered. Pago Shop addresses these pain points,” Morales added.

Increased Access to Credit

Mauricio Schwartzmann, Country Manager of Mastercard Mexico, emphasized that digitalization also enables SMEs to access more financing opportunities. Lack of credit is a significant reason businesses fail in their early years.

“These solutions not only help SMEs expand but also provide greater access to financing. Our commitment is to build an inclusive digital ecosystem that works for everyone, ensuring SMEs of any size or location have access to cutting-edge technology that drives their growth.”

Gabriel Mejía concluded that both individuals and legal entities can implement the system. The first six months are free, and if monthly sales reach 40,000 pesos with a Banamex Cheque account, the service remains free.
