Partnership Between Tec de Monterrey, Meta, and Mexico’s Economy Secretariat
The Technological Institute of Monterrey (Tec de Monterrey), Meta, and Mexico’s Economy Secretariat have launched PotencIA Mx, an accelerator aimed at helping startups and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) integrate artificial intelligence (AI) into their operations, boost efficiency, and discover new business opportunities.
Democratizing Access to Advanced Technologies
PotencIA Mx seeks to democratize access to cutting-edge technologies, such as large language models (LLMs) with an open-source focus, to transform the Mexican business ecosystem. This initiative is supported by the Economy Secretariat and the Science, Humanities, Technology, and Innovation Secretariat.
Supporting SMEs
Íñigo Fernández, Director of Public Policy at Meta for Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean, highlighted during the accelerator’s presentation that Meta’s platforms and technologies empower millions of individuals and businesses of all sizes in Mexico, helping them create meaningful connections, grow, and generate income.
According to a Morning Consult study, nine out of ten SMEs consider Meta’s solutions essential for their businesses’ survival.
“This initiative, presented in collaboration with Tec de Monterrey and supported by the Economy Secretariat and the Science, Humanities, Technology, and Innovation Secretariat, represents the democratization of one of the innovations that will transform the global economic dynamics in the coming years,” said Fernández.
Josué Omar Delgado Gutiérrez, co-founder and CIO of incMTY, emphasized that linking with global corporations presents an invaluable opportunity to accelerate innovation in Mexican SMEs and startups.

Accelerator Program Phases
Bootcamp: Selected companies will participate in an intensive event in November in Mexico City or a multi-site format, featuring workshops, conferences, and specialized AI and business development mentorships.
Acceleration: A group of startups and SMEs will advance to a multi-month acceleration program, receiving personalized mentorships and workshops tailored to their specific growth needs.
Demo Day and Awards: At the end of the process, participants will showcase their projects at a Demo Day in 2026 before investors and experts from the ecosystem. Two winners will be selected: an SME that will receive a soft landing to expand into new markets, and a startup that will win a global business trip to explore new opportunities.
“Aceleradora PotencIA Mx is more than an accelerator; it’s a bridge to the future of entrepreneurship in Mexico,” said Delgado.
