Growth Opportunities for SMEs During Hot Sale 2025

The growing interest of Mexican consumers in discounted products is driving sales for online SMEs during the Hot Sale. According to Luis Gómez, director of SMEs at Tiendanube, these businesses can expect a 50% increase in sales compared to a regular week. This represents an 11% growth from the previous year’s Hot Sale, with SMEs accounting for 40% of online transactions during the month and 3% of annual sales.

Sector-wise Sales Growth

  • Health and Beauty: Anticipated growth of 100%
  • Pets: Expected sales increase of 85%
  • Fashion, Accessories, and Jewelry: Projected growth of 72%

Gómez emphasizes the importance of preparation for SMEs, ensuring they have adequate inventory management, customer service capabilities, and efficient order dispatch processes before, during, and after the Hot Sale.

Effective Promotion Strategies

The Mexican Online Sales Association (AMVO) highlights that 80% of online shoppers in Mexico are motivated by discounts and various payment options. Therefore, strategic promotions can significantly attract customers.

  • Buy-one-get-one (2×1) or buy-two-get-three (3×2): These promotions offer additional items with product purchases.
  • Free shipping: Although not exclusive to the Hot Sale, this remains a popular customer preference year-round.
  • Direct discounts or cashback: Offer a percentage of the purchase amount back to customers via payment gateway.

Why Offer Multiple Payment Options?

Credit and debit cards remain the preferred payment methods for online shoppers, accounting for 70% of preferences, according to AMVO. Other popular methods include bank transfers, convenience stores, and departmental cards.

Gómez anticipates that credit and debit cards will be the most widely used payment methods during the Hot Sale, with 55% of transactions. He expects 30% of sales to be made using credit cards and the remaining 25% through debit cards.

Importance of Return Policies and Logistics

Mishandled returns can lead to additional costs and poor customer experiences for SMEs. AMVO reports that 40% of consumers are most concerned about delivery aspects, such as timely updates and return policies.

  • Visible return policies: Display clear return and exchange guidelines to build customer trust.
  • Detailed product descriptions: Provide accurate product descriptions, high-quality images, size guides, and model measurements to minimize returns.
