A Unique Vino Destination in Nonoalco, Mexico City
La Table de Climats, an extension of the renowned wine importer Climats, has opened a unique space in the lesser-known Nonoalco neighborhood of Mexico City. This venue offers an intimate setting for wine enthusiasts to understand, converse about, and share their passion for wine around a single table, without the formality of traditional tastings.
About Climats and its Founder
Tanguy de Bodinat, the founder of Climats in 2016, spent a decade visiting family-owned wineries across various countries to bring authentic and respectful wines to Mexico. With La Table, he translates this experience into hospitality, creating a space where gastronomy and wine meet on equal terms.
A Warm and Inviting Space
Designed by architect Fernanda Basurto, La Table accommodates up to fourteen guests in an open kitchen that blurs the lines between chef and diner. The central, unique table without head-of-table seating becomes the stage and unifying point for all.
In collaboration with Quetzal, the project emphasizes warm lighting. Miele’s discreet technology and Le Creuset pieces complement an environment that embodies Climats’ philosophy: elegance without excess and functionality with soul.
The Essence of La Table
“For ten years, we’ve chosen special wines; now we want to offer the place where they are lived, shared, and remembered,” explains Tanguy de Bodinat, convinced that wine gains meaning when it becomes a shared experience.
Since its inception, Climats has established direct relationships with producers committed to sustainable practices and artisanal viticulture. Each imported label is the result of a visit, conversation, and earned trust—no trends or intermediaries, only authenticity.
The chosen wines aim to complement Mexican cuisine rather than overpower it, striking a balance of respect and harmony. This vision has made Climats one of the leading suppliers for Mexico’s top restaurants, where each bottle is an integral part of the culinary narrative.
La Table: Experiences
The La Table program revolves around four concepts:
- Chef Series: Invited chefs prepare their menus for attendees.
- Bodega Tasting: Meetings with international producers.
- Cata Vertical: A journey through different vintages of the same label.
- Wine Focus: Exploration of specific wine regions or styles.
During its inaugural season (November 2025), two notable dinners encapsulate La Table’s spirit:
- Champagne Henri Giraud with chef Edgar Núñez, blending the mineral elegance of Champagne with Mexican vegetal cuisine.
- Castello di Monsanto with Marco Carboni, a vertical tasting exploring the depths of Tuscany, glass after glass.
The Wine Cellar and Spirit
Climats’ wine cellar, also located in Nonoalco, maintains optimal conditions for wines and hosts private tastings, corporate dinners, and personalized experiences. Each event maintains a common thread: wine as a vehicle for culture and connection.
