A Culinary Journey: Thai Fest 2025

In commemoration of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Mexico and Thailand, Banyan Group is hosting a special edition of the Thai Fest. This multisensory celebration honors the cultural ties between these nations through gastronomy, hospitality, and high-level culinary art.

From June 7 to 21, 2025, five Banyan Group hotels in Mexico will transform into living embassies of Southeast Asia: Mayakoba, Valle de Guadalupe, Cabo Marqués, Puebla, and Mérida (Hacienda Xcanatun). Each hotel will offer a unique program featuring themed dinners, tasting menus, live cooking stations, and the star presence of Thai chef Tipaporn Phianthong, a prominent figure in contemporary Asian culinary scene.

A Culinary Itinerary

  • Valle de Guadalupe (Baja California): Aldea restaurant will host a Saffron pop-up featuring dishes like Tom Yum Goong and Massaman Nua, led by chefs Daniel Peña and Mai.
  • Cabo Marqués (Acapulco): “Noche en Bangkok” will focus on author cocktails and traditional street food, featuring signature drinks from Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur’s Vértigo bar.

  • Hacienda Xcanatun (Mérida): A two-day feast with Thai-style buffet, family brunch, and a fire show under the Yucatan stars.
