A Culinary Festival Highlighting Tradition, Memory, and Luxury
The 2025 edition of Sabor es Polanco will not only gather over 70 restaurants and 220 exhibitors at Campo Marte on May 17th and 18th, but it will also shine the spotlight on those spaces that have transcended generations. This year, a special recognition will be given to three restaurants that have left an indelible mark on Mexico’s gastronomic culture through their longevity, identity, and contribution to the national palate.
Honorees: Pillars of Mexican Culinary Tradition
- La Cantina de Willy: Founded in 1902 in Morelia, Michoacán, as a small grocery store, it has evolved into a beloved establishment serving local favorites like the capeado chile moreliano torta. Now, over 120 years later, it stands as a symbol of family tradition and a haven for those seeking authentic local flavors.
- Los Panchos: With 80 years of history on Mexico City’s Tolstoi Street, this restaurant, founded by the Chischistz family, is an unavoidable reference when discussing carnitas and traditional Mexican cuisine.
- Au Pied de Cochon: A French restaurant established in Polanco since 2000, it has maintained its identity as an ambassador of French gastronomy while adapting to local tastes without losing authenticity.
Celebrating Culinary Icons
In addition to honoring these restaurants, Sabor es Polanco 2025 will pay tribute to two key figures in the international projection of Mexican cuisine:
- Ricardo Muñoz Zurita: An investigator, author, and founder of Azul Histórico and Azul Condesa, he has been a pivotal figure in preserving and promoting Mexico’s national recipes.
- Diana Beltrán: A native of Acapulco and entrepreneur, she has brought Mexican cuisine to the Vatican, serving Christmas dinners since 2006.
A Blend of Culinary Heritage and High-End Experiences
While the festival emphasizes tradition, Sabor es Polanco 2025 also embraces exclusivity and sophistication. The Premium Pass will offer gastronomic experiences from renowned chef-owned restaurants like Balcón del Zócalo, Estoril, Grupo Chic, and Casa Marena, accompanied by wine pairings curated by sommelier Laura Santander.
