According to a survey, 69% of companies in Mexico have increased their investment in automation. Alberto Alesi, General Manager of ManpowerGroup for Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central America, highlighted that automation and artificial intelligence (AI) will reshape the global labor market by transforming functions rather than massively eliminating jobs.

The rapid technological advancement and the progress of AI are causing a “deep” reconfiguration of the global labor market, more associated with function transformation than massive job destruction. This warning was issued by Alberto Alesi during the Top Circle 2026 forum.

According to projections by the World Economic Forum and internal studies by ManpowerGroup, over 78 million new jobs are expected globally by 2030. These positions will concentrate in high-value areas such as cybersecurity, big data analysis, renewable energy, and the growing demand for professionals in mental health, well-being, and user experience.

Intensified Automation Investment in Mexico

In the national context, investment in automation has intensified. ManpowerGroup’s 2025 Employment Expectations Survey indicates that 69% of companies in Mexico have increased their capital dedicated to this area.

Human Skills: The Unchanging Value

Despite the advancement of AI, human skills that will maintain greater value in the future are those that are intrinsically human and difficult to automate. Key competencies for effective integration into technology-mediated environments include strategic thinking, effective communication, team management, personalized customer service, and ethical judgment.

AI as an Opportunity, Not a Threat

Alesi emphasized that automation should not be viewed as a threat but rather as an opportunity to elevate human talent value. The real risk, he argued, lies not in AI adoption (already a reality in 53% of global companies for recruitment and training processes) but in the lack of preparation to use it productively and responsibly.
