Blanca Guerrero Padilla, an integrative clinical psychologist, agrees that this social connection increases their sense of security, generating well-being. She also notes that mealtime serves as a space and moment to express feelings and thoughts, helping emotional regulation.

This integration also decreases burnout, but Cuéllar López stresses that to positively enhance this process, one should “avoid eating at the workplace.” “Simply standing up from your desk and going to a cafeteria or dining area already reduces stress,” he explains. “Even if you’re upset and eating alone, the warmth of another person’s presence reminds you that you’re not alone.”

The Federal Labor Law (FLW) doesn’t set a maximum, but it does establish that workers must have at least 30 minutes of rest.
