Peru
President José Jerí of Peru congratulated Paz via telephone, wishing him “the greatest success in his administration.” Jerí emphasized that relations between Peru and Bolivia are a “priority” for Peru’s foreign policy due to their historical ties. Both leaders agreed on the importance of resuming high-level political dialogue and reestablishing diplomatic representation at the ambassador level as soon as possible.
Chile
The Chilean government highlighted Paz’s “clear victory,” securing 54% of the votes against former President Jorge Tuto Quiroga’s 45%. This marks Quiroga’s third attempt to gain the presidency through elections, having served for less than a year after Hugo Banzer’s resignation in 2021.
The Chilean government stressed its interest in deepening dialogue with Bolivia on matters that mutually benefit both countries and congratulated the Bolivian people for a well-ordered and peaceful election day, characterized by high citizen participation.
Argentina
The Argentine government praised the “exemplary” election process in Bolivia, reaffirming the value of freedom, democracy, and respect for republican institutions.
“The Argentine government celebrates the free and sovereign expression of the Bolivian people and trusts that this new stage will contribute to strengthening democratic coexistence and the well-being of all Bolivians,” it stated.
The government of President Javier Milei also expressed its readiness to collaborate with Paz’s new administration to build a close and constructive relationship focused on prosperity and stability in the region.

The Ecuadorian government congratulated Paz and wished him success while highlighting Bolivia’s commitment to ensuring transparent, participatory, and peaceful elections.

Brazil
Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva emphasized the peaceful atmosphere during the elections and conveyed his interest in maintaining a good relationship with Bolivia to Paz.
“Bolivia is a fundamental partner for Brazil in building an integrative, fair, and solidaric South America,” Lula da Silva highlighted.
Venezuelan Opposition’s Stance
Venezuelan opposition leader Edmundo González celebrated the “new era” that begins in Bolivia with Paz’s victory. He congratulated Paz and expressed his wishes for success and tranquility in leading this new chapter.
