Measles Situation in Mexico
As of July 10, the Federal Health Secretary’s General Epidemiology Department reported 3,261 confirmed measles cases accumulated until Thursday, July 10, which is an increase of 45 cases compared to the previous report on July 9.
The department detailed that individuals who have contracted the highly contagious virus are concentrated in 20 states and 79 municipalities, with the northern regions experiencing the most significant increase in this disease.

According to the distribution of probable and confirmed measles cases by epidemiological week (SE), the first confirmed case of measles was reported in SE 5.
Epidemiology explained that confirmed measles cases affect both genders (48% males and 52% females).
In terms of the number of cases, the primary age group affected is 0 to 4 years old (693 cases), followed by 25 to 29 years old with 463 cases and 30 to 34 years old with 392 cases.
Regarding the incidence rate, the 0 to 4 years age group reported the highest incidence rate (6.54 cases per 100,000 individuals under 4 years old), followed by the 25 to 29 and 30 to 34 age groups with incidence rates of 4.29 and 3.75, respectively.
