An Unforgettable Night of Theater

Imagine sitting in a theater seat, completely unaware of what’s about to unfold on stage. This is the thrilling challenge for both the performer and the audience in “White Rabbit, Red Rabbit,” a one-of-a-kind theatrical experience at La Teatrería. Each performance is a brave act of on-stage improvisation, offering a distinct and unrepeatable experience every night.

The Concept

Devised by Iranian playwright Nassim Soleimanpour, this unique production has captivated audiences worldwide. With no script and no director, each show features a different actor or actress who discovers their character for the first time from an envelope on stage, right in front of the live audience. This Tuesday, Elyfer Torres will take on this challenge.

An Emotional rollercoaster

Elyfer Torres shares her thoughts on this unique challenge: “It’s a huge challenge, incredibly exciting, and I must admit, I’m a bit nervous. It’s an act of stage bravery, complete improvisation; stepping onto the stage with no idea of what’s to come.”

“This play has been around for years, created during a time of war when the author sought to distance himself from his surroundings,” she adds, reflecting on the origins of this experimental piece.

Torres describes the experience as “cool” because, while no two theatrical performances are alike, this production truly embodies that principle. “No one can repeat this play; it’s the first and last time I’ll perform it, which I find incredible.”

Each performance is a unique, unrepeatable experience. Actors must live and share the text with honesty, intuition, and full stage presence. The result is a captivating show where both the audience and performer embark on an emotional rollercoaster filled with surprise, reflection, and humor.
