Key Gainers in the Mexican Market

Most values within the S&P/BMV IPC index closed with gains. Industrias Peñoles led the way, rising 5.24% to 521.75 pesos, followed by Alfa with a 2.74% increase to 13.86 pesos, and Pinfra with a 2.64% gain to 177.97 pesos.

Mixed June, Positive First Half

Investors are optimistic that the United States will secure more agreements with its major partners as a deadline set by President Donald Trump approaches. Canada has already removed a digital services tax, signaling cooperation.

Meanwhile, the market remains stable following the easing of tensions in the Middle East after a 12-day conflict between Israel and Iran. The S&P/BMV IPC managed to limit its monthly decline to just 0.68%.

In contrast, the Mexican stock market has shown a 16.03% gain in H1 2025, significantly outperforming its US counterparts, which only recently returned to positive territory. This success is attributed to Mexico’s exclusion from Trump’s general tariff plan.

At its peak this year, just three weeks ago, the leading index surged 18% compared to its 2024 closing value. “In July, investors will be watching for Q2 corporate results,” explained CopKapital.
