AliExpress and Content-oh! Form Strategic Alliance

AliExpress, a Chinese e-commerce platform, announced a strategic partnership with Mexican company Content-oh!, which specializes in content solutions for marketplaces.

This collaboration will enable AliExpress to optimize its local marketplace and potentially boost local sellers’ online presence, enhance customer experience, and maximize conversion rates. Content-oh! offers solutions to adapt and optimize content for each platform, ensuring rapid distribution to retailers and marketplaces in the Mexican market.

Orbia Leads in PVC Recycling in Latin America

Orbia, a Mexican-origin company, announced its leadership in PVC recycling in Latin America through its Polymer Solutions (Vestolit) division’s Vinyl in Motion initiative.

This initiative transforms PVC waste into new products while promoting social development in recycling communities. The circular strategy already involves over 100 companies and generates high-value operational, social, and ecological products.

FEMSA Repurchase ADS for Approximately $250 Million

FEMSA, a beverage bottling and retail company, announced on Monday that it signed an agreement for the repurchase of American Depository Shares (ADS) in the United States for approximately $250 million.

The operation will be carried out through a financial derivative instrument known as ADS, involving the initial delivery of 483,559 FEMSA titles in New York on Tuesday. However, the company did not disclose its counterparty in a brief statement.

FEMSA’s shares, which control Coca-Cola FEMSA and operate the Oxxo convenience store chain, rose 2.89% on the Mexican Stock Exchange to 206.75 pesos per share following the announcement, while its U.S. papers gained 0.33% to $93.06 each.

AMFE Offers Online Course on Anti-Money Laundering Regulations

To promote proper implementation of the new provisions of the Federal Law for the Prevention and Identification of Operations with Illicitly-Obtained Resources and the Federal Criminal Code, the Mexican Association of Specialized Financial Entities (AMFE) will offer the online course “Key Reform of the Anti-Money Laundering Law and its Practical Application” on Thursday, May 22.

The course will cover the following topics: Customer Identification and Beneficial Owner; Operation Monitoring and Reporting (Inclusion of Terrorism Financing); Risk-Based Approach and Mandatory Annual Audit. The speakers will include experts and authorities from Latin America and Mexico, such as SAT and Financial Intelligence Unit representatives.
