Background on Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo and Her Commitment

Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, the President of Mexico, has been instrumental in ensuring electrical access for underserved communities. As part of her commitment, she visited Guadalupe y Calvo on December 13, 2025, to address energy needs in the region.

Understanding the Role of CFE and Its Director General

Following Sheinbaum’s visit, the Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE), under the leadership of its Director General, Emilia Esther Calleja Alor, began implementing electrification projects in Chihuahua. These efforts aim to bring electricity to remote areas and fulfill the national mission of providing electrical services.

Key Electrification Projects in Chihuahua

Four electrification projects have been approved in Chihuahua, benefiting 79 households with a total investment of 9.18 million pesos. These projects are crucial in addressing energy needs in some of Mexico’s most isolated regions.

  • Palos Muertos, Guadalupe y Calvo: This already electrified town has 6 households without electricity service. The project involves installing 10 poles and 2 transformers.
  • La Tableta, Guadalupe y Calvo: A previous solar installation in 2005 benefited 5 households. The recent visit confirmed the ongoing functionality of this solar system.
  • El Paso del Águila, Balleza: Although this electrified town has 11 households without electricity, the project includes installing 13 poles and 3 transformers.
  • Huerta de los Carrillo, Guadalupe y Calvo: This project will benefit 42 households and 168 residents by installing 13 transformers and 94 poles.
  • Sagoachi, Bocoyna: Despite being electrified with individual solar modules, this town requires electrification for 20 more households.

Funding and Collaboration

The Fondo de Servicio Universal Eléctrico (FSUE) will finance these projects. The CFE is currently working with the Secretaría de Energía to secure the necessary resources.

The Reach of Mexico’s Energy Justice Plan

Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo’s Energy Justice Plan aims to provide electrical services to every community, regardless of population size or location. The CFE remains dedicated to fulfilling this national mission.
