Under the vision of well-being and social justice championed by the Mexican government, CFE Telecom is now providing internet and telephony services to remote regions where commercial operators do not reach. This initiative aims to contribute to the provision of internet and telecommunications services across the entire national territory.
Infrastructure Deployment Highlights
- 4,907 telecommunications towers with 4G LTE radio
- 21,449.21 kilometers of dark fiber optic cable in the National Aggregation and Access Network (RENAyA)
- 102,329 internet access points (PAIG) using 4G LTE/shared technology, ADSL, and satellite internet
- 3,321,505 mobile services – both cellular and wireless broadband – in all 32 states of Mexico, in authorized locations
CFE Telecom and Social Impact
CFE Telecom, in collaboration with the Distribution and Transmission Sub-Directorates, is installing free internet access points in teleplanteles of the Secretaría de Educación Pública (SEP) and IMSS Bienestar clinics.
By the end of 2025, an additional 6,663 free internet access points will be installed, bringing the total to 108,286. These new access points will benefit an estimated 111.6 million people living in 53,000 remote localities.
