Overview of the Event

The State of Mexico, under the leadership of its Secretariats for Economic Development, Security, and Mobility, is gearing up for the Buen Fin 2025 shopping event. This annual event is expected to generate over 28 billion pesos in economic impact and involve more than 20,000 businesses.

Security Measures

To ensure the safety of shoppers, the State Security Secretariat (SSEM) will deploy 3,290 personnel across all 125 municipalities starting from midnight on November 13 until late on November 17. This operation will be supported by 208 patrol units, 25 canines, and 25 equines. Continuous monitoring will be conducted through the Center for Control, Command, Communication, Computing, and Quality (C5) based in Toluca and Ecatepec. Drones will also be utilized for surveillance, and there will be close coordination with authorities at all levels of government as per the Paz Tables.

These security efforts will be intensified in 486 shopping centers, 1,296 banking institutions, and 6,42 ATMs due to the early aguinaldo payments by some companies offering special deals and promotions during this event.

Economic Impact

Laura González Hernández, the Secretary of Economic Development, highlighted that more than 20,000 businesses are expected to participate, generating an economic impact exceeding 28 billion pesos. This figure represents a 12% increase compared to the 2024 event.

The State of Mexico hosts 490 commercial plazas, with the highest concentrations in Metepec, Toluca, Ecatepec, Atizapán de Zaragoza, and Tlalnepantla. There are 5,313 supermarkets and department stores primarily located in Ecatepec, Toluca, Tlalnepantla, Naucalpan, and Tecámac.

Anticipated Consumer Demand

Shoppers are expected to show a high demand for clothing, footwear, electronics, mobile phones, white goods, furniture, and technology. There is also a growing interest in online shopping and exclusive digital channel promotions.

Transportation Adjustments

Daniel Sibaja González, the Secretary of Mobility, explained that in collaboration with SSEM, transportation will be optimized within Toluca’s central area and key economic zones. The Mexibús hours will be extended from 4:00 AM to 12:00 PM in the Greater Mexico City region. In the Toluca Valley, public transport concessionaires will establish secure locations for shoppers to make purchases and travel safely, especially in high-traffic areas.
