Affected Areas and Public Works

On this Sunday afternoon, intense rains hit Mexico City, causing issues such as flooding and restrictions on the Line A of the Metro in the eastern part of the capital. Protección Civil has issued alerts for several boroughs.

SEGIAGUA’s Report

The SEGIAGUA reported flooding on Calzada Ignacio Zaragoza and Cayetano Andrade in the Santa Marta Acatitla neighborhood, located in the Iztapalapa borough. Brigades from the Tlaloque operation are carrying out maneuvers to drain water.

Security and Public Works

The Capital’s Security Secretariat reported that personnel is clearing storm drains and removing trash on Calzada Ignacio Zaragoza near the Concordia Bridge to lower water levels. Meanwhile, traffic police are assisting people in crossing flooded areas to find public transportation.

Metro CDMX: Provisional Service on Line A

Due to external water exceeding the municipal drainage capacity in the eastern zone (La Paz municipality), the Metro announced that bombing operations continue on Line A.

Provisional Service

The service operates provisionally from Pantitlán to Guelatao; there is no service from Guelatao to La Paz. RTP units are transporting users from Guelatao to Santa Marta in support.

Safety Measures on the Metro

Due to heavy rains across the city, the Metro implemented a safety march on the network, reducing train speeds to ensure safe travel.
