Overview and Context

In the first eleven months of 2025, a staggering 124,367 women have been victims of some form of crime across the country. While there has been a decrease in certain offenses like feminicide and homicide, intentional injuries against women have reached unprecedented levels, paralleling the rise in corruption of minors.

Crime Statistics

According to the latest data from the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System’s report on violence against women and delinquency incidence and 911 emergency calls, between January and November 2025, there were a total of 333,175 victims of crime nationwide. Of these, 37.5% were women.

Regarding two of the most impactful crimes affecting women—feminicide and intentional homicide—there has been a decrease of 14.8%. In comparison to the same period in 2024, only 672 feminicide victims have been recorded in 2025. November reported 74 cases, the same as October, with four involving minor girls.

Sinaloa leads in feminicides with 63 cases, followed by the State of Mexico with 52 and Chihuahua with 45. Twenty-seven point six percent of the nation’s feminicides are concentrated in 20 municipalities, with Culiacán, Sinaloa leading the list with 35 victims.

Intentional homicides against women have also decreased by 19%, dropping from 2,368 cases in 2024 to 1,917 so far in 2025. November had the fewest intentional homicides of women this year, with 137 cases—23% fewer than October.

Seventy-five point seven percent of reported intentional homicides against women, between January and November 2025, involved firearms. Additionally, 106 victims were under the age of 18.

Guanajuato, Baja California, and the State of Mexico account for 33.8% of these crimes: Guanajuato (313), Baja California (176), and the State of Mexico (158).

Red Flags

A total of 74,151 women have been victims of intentional injuries this year, the highest number since 2015. This figure represents an almost 18% increase compared to the 62,880 victims reported between January and November 2024, as well as a 26% rise compared to the same period in 2015.

Currently, only two states account for 45.8% of these cases: the State of Mexico (25,571 victims) and Guanajuato (8,359 reports).

Of the reported victims this year, 5,669 are girls and adolescents, with firearms involved in 1,280 cases.

Corruption of minors has also reached its historical maximum, with 2,195 cases reported so far in 2025—12% more than the same period in 2024 and over 107% compared to 2015, when only 1,058 cases were reported.

Guanajuato, Ciudad de Mexico, and Nuevo León concentrate 51.4% of these cases: Guanajuato (651), Ciudad de Mexico (244), and Nuevo León (233).

Alarming Situation

Organizations like the National Network of Refugios have raised concerns about escalating violence against women. According to the network, 755 women experience domestic violence daily, and two women become victims of sexual violence every hour.

“These are not mere numbers; they represent shattered lives and voices that the state continues to ignore,” stated the NGO.

The National Network of Refugios reported a 208% increase in assistance to women survivors of violence at external attention centers this year, highlighting the growing need for such spaces.
